Taking Stock of what German Governments do
Together with varying colleagues, Reimut Zohlnhöfer has edited a volume on every German Federal government since the first coalition government of Social democrats and Greens (1998-2002). While these books are published in German, the main chapters of the most recent book on the second Merkel government have also been published as a special issue of German Politics.
The edited volumes analyze the most important developments in domestic and foreign policy with a focus on the impact of parties, electoral competition, interest groups, veto players and the European Union. Moreover, a number of chapters are also devoted to politics aspects of the respective legislative period like intra-party developments, coalition governance and institutional aspects.
