Dr Holger Schroeter Becomes New Head of University's Administration

The University Council and Senate of Ruperto Carola have elected a new Head of Administration of Heidelberg University. In the joint session on 15 March 2018, the members of the two bodies voted for Dr Holger Schroeter by a large majority. The 46-year-old is currently full time Vice-President of Finance and Human Resources at the University of Göttingen. The Minister-President will confirm the appointment in collaboration with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts. Dr Schroeter is to begin his six-year term on 1 September. He will succeed Dr Angela Kalous, who chose not to run for re-election to the post after her six-year term.
Holger Schroeter (b. 1971) studied Forest Sciences at Göttingen University, where he also earned his doctorate. He subsequently studied economics and graduated with a diploma in business administration. Dr Schroeter held a number of management and senior positions within the Federal Labour Office in North Rhine Westphalia at the Solingen and Düsseldorf locations. In 2008, he joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, serving as its Business Director until assuming the office of full time Vice-President of Finance and Human Resources at the University of Göttingen in October of 2015.
