Award Ceremony and Colloquium of the Humboldt Foundation in Heidelberg

On the occasion of the first presentation of the Anneliese Maier Research Award, Heidelberg University will host a colloquium of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in September 2012. Endowed with 250,000 EUR, the award recognises outstanding foreign humanists and will be presented for the first time this year. Its purpose is to help finance cooperative research projects with fellow scientists in Germany over a period of five years. The award is named after the German philosopher and science historian Anneliese Maier (1905-1971), whose international biography was extraordinary in her time. On the occasion of the award ceremony in Heidelberg, the university will host a colloquium on 12-15 September.
