《好萊塢日報》由許企俠創辦,上海好萊塢日報報館發行.極盡所能開設附刊以介紹歌女社,舞廳,及跑狗等諸般娛樂舉措,並引入幾十部長篇連載小說以饗讀者.其圖片幾乎全是舞女,歌女,影星照片,是一份地道的文娛小報.



《好萊塢日報》署名好萊塢意在容易記憶,且盡人皆知,與電影業風馬牛不相及.其內容不導淫誨盜,不談邦國政治,不揚個人隱私.極盡所能開設附刊以介紹歌女社,舞廳,及跑狗等諸般娛樂舉措,並引入幾十部長篇連載小說以饗讀者.其圖片幾乎全是舞女,歌女,影星照片,是一份地道的文娛小報.其內容導向,與抗戰時期孤島上海紙醉金迷的社會風氣相一致.只在不多的幾篇有關孤島時期上海生活報道的小品文(如海星的《孤島上的衣食住行》.小幹的《酒樓餐館遍設孤島》《彩票風在本市已成爲白熱化了》《上海的小客棧》及乃亮的《假期後的金融市場》《九重等級下的孤島理髮店業》)中可以窺見市民的真實生活景況.而三百二十三期之後,關於名人軼事的報道(如宗濂的《蔣委座三件隨身法寶》.巍巍的《毛澤東的少年時代》《賀龍出自大家，善於遊擊》《小老頭子陳獨秀》《三朝紅員唐紹儀》《七十二黃花烈士》《軍事學家蔣公百里》.岑子的《周恩來八面玲瓏》《朱德做過公安局長》《宋氏三姊妹》《葉挺流亡德國時》《吳佩孚監禁項英》)方能讓人想起孤島外如火如荼的戰爭世界.

1 舞國親見禮(第二期改爲“舞國”,第九期改爲“舞宮”,至四十一期).編輯：油炸燴.主要撰稿人見第一期，二版“發刊小語”：如哀王孫,卜卜跳,燕趙舞客,倦倦等.第三版.

2 回力球與狗訊(第四期後改爲“狗訊”,第六期改爲“跑狗園地”),編輯：小幹.第四版.
