Schreibberatung der Graduiertenakademie – Fokussiertes Schreibgruppenprogramm für Doktorand:innen

Liebe Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden,
die Graduiertenakademie möchte Doktorand:innen aller Fakultäten zur Teilnahme am Fokussierten Schreibgruppenprogramm einladen, das im April 2023 beginnt.
Das Programm bietet den Teilnehmer:innen einen konkreten Arbeitsraum, Expertinnen und Experten auf Abruf sowie eine Gemeinschaft von Gleichgesinnten, um Doktorand:innen in ihrem akademischen und dissertationsbezogenen Schreibprozess zu unterstützen.
Zu den Kernzielen gehören: a) strukturierte Unterstützung für Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden in einem moderierten, kollegialen Umfeld; b) Anleitung der Kandidat:innen durch Strategien und gezielte Übungen zu ausgewählten Themen im Zusammenhang mit dem akademischen Schreiben; c) Austausch und Diskussion über laufende Arbeiten; d) kontinuierliches Schreiben im Hinblick auf bestimmte Ziele und Fristen; e) Aufbau einer ‚Gemeinschaft‘ von akademischen Schreiberinnen und Schreibern im Interesse von Unterstützung, Kollegialität und Solidarität.
Was sind fokussierte Schreibgruppen und wie funktionieren sie?
Eine fokussierte Schreibgruppe ist eine Gemeinschaft von 6-8 Doktorand:innen, die sich regelmäßig treffen, um einen wissenschaftlichen Text zu verfassen. Die Teilnehmer:innen arbeiten an ihren eigenen Projekten, allerdings in einem kollegialen Umfeld und mit der Unterstützung eines Tutor:innenteams. Letztere begleiten jede Gruppe über einen Zeitraum von drei Monaten, wobei alle zwei Wochen ein Treffen stattfindet. Während der dreistündigen Sitzungen stehen den Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern sowohl ein Einzel- als auch ein Gruppenarbeitsraum mit Stromanschluss, WLAN-Zugang und einer Grundausstattung an Büromaterial zur Verfügung.
Wer kann teilnehmen?
Die fokussierten Schreibgruppen stehen Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden aller Fakultäten offen, unabhängig davon, in welchem Stadium sich ihre Dissertation befindet. Das Schreibunterstützungsteam der Graduiertenakademie wird jedoch die Bildung spezifischer Gruppen auf der Grundlage gemeinsamer Ziele, Interessen und ähnlicher Fortschrittsstufen erleichtern.
Wie kann ich mehr über das Programm erfahren?
Zum Start des Programms organisiert das Schreibbetreuungsteam der Graduiertenakademie am 21. März um 14:00 Uhr eine Informationsveranstaltung im Käthe Leichter Forum (INF 370). Bei dieser werden die Doktorand:innen mit den Einzelheiten des Programms, den Tutorinnen und Tutoren sowie den Arbeitsräumen der Graduiertenakademie vertraut gemacht. Die Teilnehmer:innen haben auch die Möglichkeit, sich im Voraus für das Programm anzumelden.
Das fokussierte Schreibgruppenprogramm wird in englischer und deutscher Sprache angeboten. Für die Teilnahme ist keine vorherige Registrierung notwendig!

Writing Support Services at the Graduate Academy – Focused Writing Group Program for Doctoral Candidates
Dear Doctoral Candidates,
the Graduate Academy would like to invite doctoral candidates from all faculties to participate in the Focused Writing Group Program to begin in April 2023.
The program will provide participants with a physical working space, experts on call, and a community of like-minded peers to support doctoral researchers in their academic and dissertation writing process.
Core objectives include: a) provide doctoral candidates with structured support in a facilitated peer-based setting; b) guide candidates through strategies and focused exercises on selected topics related to academic writing; c) share and discuss work in-progress; d) produce ongoing writing towards specific goals and deadlines; e) develop a “community” of academic writers in the interest of support, collegiality, and solidarity.
What are focused writing groups and how will they work?
A focused writing group is a community of 6-8 doctoral candidates who meet on a regular basis to work towards composing an academic text. Participants work on their own projects but do so within a peer-based environment and with the support of a team of tutors. The latter will assist each group over the course of three months with meetings taking place every two weeks. An individual as well as a group working space with power connections, wireless access, and basic office supplies will be made available for participants during each of the three-hour sessions.
Who can participate?
The focused writing groups are open to PhD candidates from all faculties regardless of the stage of their research. However, the Graduate Academy’s writing support team will facilitate the formation of specific groups based on common goals, interests, and similar levels of advancement.
How can I find out more about the program?
To launch the program, the Graduate Academy’s writing support team will be hosting an information session at the Käthe Leichter Forum (INF 370) on March 21st at 14:00. The event will introduce PhD candidates to the program’s details, the tutors and the working space at the Graduate Academy. Participants will also have the opportunity to register in advance for the program.
The focused writing group program will be offered in English and in German. There is no previous registration necessary for participation!
