Liebe Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden,
wir möchten Sie über drei aktuelle Entwicklungen informieren, die für Doktorand:innen der Universität Heidelberg relevant sind:
Das heiCO Campus Management System ist online
Die Bewerbungs-, Zulassungs- und Immatrikulationsfunktionen des neuen Campus-Management-Systems heiCO sind seit kurzem online. Für neu ankommende Doktorand:innen bedeutet dies, dass sie sich ab diesem Sommersemester online über das heiCO-System bewerben und immatrikulieren müssen. Das bezieht sich nur auf die Bewerbung und Immatrikulation an der Universität, aber nicht auf die Annahme als Doktorand:in an Ihrer Fakultät. Die Informationen zu diese neuen Verfahren haben wir auf unserer Website für internationale Doktorand:innen unter "Formale Schritte zum Beginn der Promotion" (Schritt 5) eingestellt.
Für bereits immatrikulierte Promovierende bedeutet das, dass Sie alle zukünftigen Immatrikulationsangelegenheiten, wie z. B. die Rückmeldung, Änderung des Immatrikulationsstatus und Exmatrikulation, im heiCO-System vornehmen können. Die Studierendenverwaltung geht davon aus, dass diese Dienste im Laufe des Jahres im heiCO-System online zur Verfügung stehen.

Die 200-Euro-Einmalzahlung (Energiepreisbeihilfe)
Die Bundesregierung stellt allen Studierenden in Deutschland eine Einmalzahlung von 200 Euro zur Verfügung, um damit die derzeit hohen Energiepreise auszugleichen. Antragsberechtigt sind Studierende und Promovierende, die am 1. Dezember 2022 an einer Hochschule eingeschrieben waren und ihren Wohnsitz in Deutschland hatten. Für die Antragstellung benötigen Sie einen Zugangscode und eine PIN, die von der Universitätsverwaltung vergeben werden.

Das neue JugendticketBW
Das Land Baden-Württemberg hat ein neues Verkehrsticket für junge Menschen in Baden-Württemberg eingeführt, das in einigen Fällen günstiger ist, als das bisherige Semesterticket und zugleich einen größeren Geltungsbereich hat. Studierende und Doktorand:innen bis zum Alter von 27 Jahren, die an der Hochschule eingeschrieben sind, können das JugendticketBW für 294,40 Euro pro Jahr (147,20 Euro für sechs Monate) erwerben. Mit dem JugendticketBW können Sie in ganz Baden-Württemberg mit dem Nahverkehr (Busse, Straßenbahnen, S-Bahnen und Regionalzüge) fahren. Wenn Sie derzeit ein gültiges Semesterticket haben und noch nicht 27 Jahre alt sind, gilt Ihr Semesterticket bis zum Ablauf des Semesters oder bis zum 31. Juli als JugendticketBW, abhängig davon, was zuerst eintritt.

Dear Doctoral Candidates,
we would like to inform you about three recent developments that are relevant to doctoral candidates at Heidelberg University:
The heiCO Campus Management System is online
The application, admission and enrollment components of the new heiCO campus management system have recently gone online. For new, incoming doctoral candidates, this means that beginning this summer semester, you will apply online and enroll through the heiCO system. This pertains only to your application and enrollment (Immatrikulation) at the university; it does not affect the admission to your Faculty (Annahme als Doktorand:in). We have posted the new information about these processes on our website for international doctoral candidates in the section “Formal Steps for Beginning your Doctorate” under steps 5 and 6.
For doctoral candidates who are already enrolled, this means that, in the future, you will be able to take care of all future enrollment issues, such as re-enrollment, change of enrollment status and exmatriculation, in the heiCO system. The student administration expects these services to go online in the heiCO system within the year.

The 200 Euro One-Off Payment (Energy Price Allowance)
The federal government is making a one-time payment of 200 Euro available to all students in Germany to help offset the current high energy prices. Students and doctoral candidates who were enrolled at the university and whose place of residence was in Germany on December 1, 2022 are eligible to apply for the payment. In order to begin the application process, you will need an access code and a PIN, which are issued by the university administration.

The new JugendticketBW
The state of Baden-Württemberg has introduced a new transport pass for young people in Baden-Württemberg that, in some cases, is less expensive than the existing Semesterticket and provides more extensive coverage. Students and doctoral candidates up to the age of 27 who are enrolled at the university can purchase the JugendticketBW for 294.40 Euro per year (147.20 Euro for six months). The JugendticketBW allows you to travel with local transport (buses, trams, S-Bahn and regional trains) throughout Baden-Württemberg. If you currently have a valid Semesterticket and are not yet 27 years old, your Semesterticket will function as a JugendticketBW until it runs out or until July 31st, whichever comes first.
