CfA Coimbra Group – UNICA joint PhD training workshop
Dear doctoral students,
We are pleased to announce that Heidelberg University will be nominating one doctoral student to attend the second Coimbra Group – UNICA joint PhD training workshop: Navigating your career: international training workshop for PhD candidates on career preparation that will take place at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies of the University of Zagreb in Dubrovnik from October 15 – 18, 2017.
With this workshop, the two networks intend to bring together doctoral candidates from universities across Europe in a highly international and multicultural setting, which will allow them to meet peers who may have had a very different experience. By means of presentations, training sessions, debates and space for self-assessment and reflection, the training workshop will create a space for reflection on employability prospects and on the soft, transversal skills need to respond to a global setting in constant change. Doctoral candidates who are interested in applying should send their applications, consisting of:
- a CV
- a statement of interest (max. 2 pages)
by email to the Graduate Academy (graduiertenakademie@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de ) at the latest by Sunday, May 14, 2017. A preliminary evaluation of the applications will take place at Heidelberg University; the final choice of participants will be made by the organizing committee of the workshop.
Participation in the training workshop will be supported by the Graduate Academy with a travel grant of max. 1000 Euro to cover the participation fee (includes participation, 4 nights of accommodations and some meals) and transportation. The successful candidate will be expected to cover 10% of these expenses himself or herself.
