Entrepreneurship for Beginners I

This module introduces students to the basics of entrepreneurship - from theoretical concepts and the role of start-ups in the context of innovation to understanding entrepreneurial ecosystems. Students go through the entire process from idea generation to the development of a viable business model, supported by the design thinking method. 

Based on self-developed or scientific problems, they design business models, validate them and gain valuable practical experience in entrepreneurship. Special emphasis is placed on the development of market strategies, marketing and financing plans as well as the preparation of a convincing final pitch. 

This course offers practical insights into entrepreneurship and the opportunity to try out your own business ideas - ideal for anyone who wants to learn entrepreneurial thinking and acquire basic skills for future business projects.

After successfully completing the course, participants will have gained a basic understanding of entrepreneurship, familiarized themselves with design thinking processes and methods, developed pitching and presentation skills and will be able to: 

  • Apply methods for validating business models (e.g. Business Model Canvas, Lean Startup)
  • Conduct market analyses and incorporate customer feedback 
  • Analyze success factors of business models
  • Develop and test prototypes
