The Chair of Modern History is dedicated to research and teaching on the late eighteenth to early twentieth centuries from a global historical perspective. Its team of researchers – from the pre-doctoral to the professorial level – shares an interest in cultural history and is engaged in projects related to the history of science and knowledge, environmental history and material histories.
