Universität Heidelberg Earns Top Spots in CHE University Ranking for Six Subjects

Especially good results for History and English/American Studies
Heidelberg University achieved excellent ratings in the latest publication of the CHE University Ranking. Each year a portion of the spectrum of subjects is re-evaluated, and in 2013 the selection included philology, education studies, history, psychology and engineering.
The Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) ranks approximately 40 subjects at over 300 universities and institutions of higher education in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Besides facts on study programmes, teaching, facilities/equipment, and research, the university ranking takes into account the opinions of more than 250,000 students on the conditions of study at their university. The results for all subjects are published in the DIE ZEIT Study Guide.
