Ruperto Carola re-asserts its rating as third best university in Germany

Ruperto Carola again fared well in the 2014 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking: It was rated among the three best German universities alongside the University of Munich (LMU) and the University of Göttingen. In all, six German universities are represented in the world's top 100. Heidelberg University was ranked 70th internationally and placed 18th among universities in Europe.

The THE ranking is based on various indicators in five areas of performance, with teaching, research and citations assigned a 30% weighting each. Other areas analysed include internationalisation (worth 7.5%) and industry income (worth 2.5%).
