Excellent Placement in THE Reputation Ranking 2015

38th place illustrates Heidelberg University’s excellent reputation in the scientific landscape
Heidelberg University climbs into the world’s top 40 universities in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Ranking 2015. This year the university placed 38th, jumping over 20 ranks. Last year Heidelberg placed in the 61-to-70 group. The ranking measures the reputation of the university through surveys of top researchers. Rupert Carola ranks second in Germany behind Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
The reputation ranking is based on surveys of established researchers from all disciplines. The current ranking was based on responses from approximately 10,500 researchers from 142 countries. This issue of the ranking was prepared for the first time in cooperation with the Elsevier media company. Previously, the Times Higher Education Ranking partnered with the Thomson Reuters Corporation for data collection.
