Santander International Summer School “Getting in Shape“
Visualization and Manipulation of Organismal Morphogenesis
Date: November 19 to 29, 2013
Venue: Heidelberg Center for Latin America (HCLA), Santiago De Chile
Seventeen outstanding doctoral students from selected universities in Europe and Latin America participate in the Santander International Summer School “GETTING IN SHAPE“. The speakers and instructors are scientists from Heidelberg University as well as renowned experts from other European and Latin American universities.
The aim of the summer school is to train doctoral students in modern approaches for studying development and growth during organogenesis of plants and animals. The main focus is on imaging technologies and strategies of manipulations in order to visualize developmental processes in detail and to analyze the underlying genetic and cell biological principles. Presentations, discussions and laboratory sessions will take place from November 19 to 27, 2013, followed by an open symposium on November 28 and 29, 2013. Scientific coordinators of the summer school are Jochen Wittbrodt (Universität Heidelberg), Miguel Allende (Universidad de Chile) and Alexis Maizel, Jan-Felix Evers, Melanie Krebs, Lázaro Centanin and Steffen Lemke (all from Universität Heidelberg).
