GIScience Colloquium Spatial Datasets to Assess Countries' Environmental Performance

In his GIScience talk, Dr Block Muguía will explain how and why he went from being a forest ecologist to becoming a data scientist focused on assessing countries' environmental performance. He will then give an overview of his current work as the project director of the Environmental Performance Index, and focus on the diverse spatial datasets that are used to score countries' air and water quality, pesticide pollution, and the effectiveness of their protected areas.
