《大報》 近代社會、文藝小報。

1924年11月27日，由步林屋、徐朗西創辦於上海。創辦人步林屋原為《晶報館》骨干，後自辦該報並任主編。該報内容豐富，自言取名為大，即意味“取材方面，處處以光明正大為唯一要旨”，被小報界譽爲兼有“四大金剛特色”之小報。它既重劇評又重文藝，兼有時事新聞、評論和文藝隨筆、影劇評論，前者如癯公、馬二、公覺、雲林等人所寫的《張作霖軼事三則》《歡迎班禪略記》，後者如鄭正秋的《說中國影戲》、伯陶《論詩曲之異同》、菊影《坤伶小史》等等。寫手多為名作家，文字古雅，看者雲集。該報的第二個特點是多登名伶、名人照片，當時名伶幾乎皆在該報上露過面，而名人如鄒容、予倩等，也有照片登出。插畫和名人書札是該報的另一特色，著名畫家劉海粟、丁悚、張光宇都曾為其創作插畫，無縱的政治漫畫、周馥的《流民圖》更是生動形象。吳昌碩、張丹斧、袁寒雲等名家的報頭題字彌足珍貴。

該報到237期時，由於步林屋生病而停刊一年，1928年再復刊時改為俞逸芬為主編，特約撰稿人有張丹斧、袁寒雲、侯疑始、龐獨笑等人。兩位前後主編也同期寫短評，因爲内容豐富，銷路比以前更佳。五個月後，由於報社内部紛爭，俞逸芬退出，大報改為陳蝶衣、張超、餘尭坤三人主編。1933年11月27日，由於步林屋病故該報停刊。

解放初期，又有陳蝶衣主編的同名《大報》出版，後以停刊和陳去香港作結。



該報最大特點在於圖片處理，照片、圖片、插畫、名人手跡在這裡得到了分外的重視。而其超出一般報紙處在於，一它以大為名，内容極其豐富，兼政治和文藝；二它開始有意識地利用圖片，後來甚至不限於名伶，刊登了如鄒容、予倩、孫科等社會名流的照片，可以看出圖片在報紙中的獨立意義。
