Donate to the Amirana Scholarship
Why donate?
We are asking for your support in order to make sure that future generations of highly motivated, international medical and dental students from low- and middle-income countries can receive the financial assistance they need quickly and easily. These students find themselves in difficult financial situations through no fault of their own and need additional resources to complete their studies.
Follow the lead of the Amirana Scholarship initiators and invest in the next generation. Your donation offers young people a perspective and a possibility for a successful professional future.
An investment in the education of future healthcare professionals in low- and middle-income countries is an invaluable contribution to the relief of hardship, the reduction of global inequality, and peacekeeping. These countries may struggle already with hunger, political unrest or educational hardship. The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated these existing problems, and in some cases created new ones.
Your donation provides the security and freedom necessary for a successful graduation. Make somebody’s dream a reality!
Successful investment
With the economic uncertainty around the world, one loses one's financial security and is confronted with the question of whether one can continue studying at all. [...] Thanks to the Amirana scholarship, I was able to continue my studies as planned without having to take on a second job and was able to do my best for my studies without worrying too much about money every day. In the meantime, I have completed the fifth semester with good grades and in the following semesters I plan to write my doctoral thesis.

I believe that investing in education is an investment in the future and thus you can never go wrong. As a foreign student, studying comes with a lot of challenges. The financial support of the Amirana Scholarship allows me to better focus on my academic life and continue my volunteer work. At the same time, it motivates me to achieve the best possible performance in my studies. Thank you for giving the opportunity of the Amirana scholarship, as it means continuous security – especially in times of crisis.
Sidi Ahmed El Bestamy, Mauretania, 2022
I have now completed all the certificates for my medical studies and am about to take my exams. I have been working part-time all my studies and am very reassured that, thanks to the Amirana Scholarship, I can afford to invest all my time in my study schedule starting in July. After that, I would love to do my practical year in Heidelberg, Heilbronn and Dakar (my hometown). I am very much looking forward to my future as a radiologist or neuroradiologist – somewhere between Senegal and Germany.
