The Entrepreneurial Skills Modules offered by hei_INNOVATION in collaboration with heiSKILLS, are starting again at the beginning of the winter semester 2024/2025. The modules introduce all members of the university to the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer. Students, doctoral students and postdocs can further their education in these fields to an extent of their own choosing. All courses are free of charge and no previous knowledge is needed.

The Entrepreneurial Skills Modules are aimed at students, doctoral candidates and post- doctoral researchers from all disciplines. They are an interesting option for everybody who would like to learn more about the transfer of knowledge, who would like to turn their innovative business idea into a start-up or spin-off, who are interested in innovation management or who would like to learn how to apply their own skills to new fields.

It is possible to attend each module individually and receive a certificate of attendance. Most modules are thematically closed and can be attended without prior knowledge in entrepreneurship or prior knowledge of specific topics. The courses offered combine the theoretical basics with practical exercises.

The modules as well as their combination for the Entrepreneurial Skills certificate are suitable for students of all subject areas.

Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate

The modules can be combined so that, after successfully completing 15 credit points (LP), they make up the Entrepreneurial Skills certificate, which serves as proof of a comprehensive basic education in the field of entrepreneurship.

Certificate candidates can choose from three focus areas that distinguish different aspects of entrepreneurship. “Entrepreneurship – Start-up” is suitable for students who may want to found their own businesses independently. “Entrepreneurship – From Research” is aimed at future founders who would like to establish their own companies based on their research work at the University of Heidelberg. “Intrapreneurship” is suitable for participants who do not want to start their own business but are interested in entrepreneurship.

More information about the Entrepreneurial Skills Modules in general, the modules that take place in the winter semester and the Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate can be found on the Entrepreneurial Skills website.
