Bachelor's students from the third semester onwards and Master's students of all semesters can now apply for the Student Innovation Lab, which starts in the winter term 2024/2025. In the course of two semesters, students from all disciplines can develop their idea into a real-world product or even startup and get hands-on support from experts. The deadline for applications is September 29, 2024.
The Student Innovation Lab is aimed at students who are interested in applying theoretical knowledge to practical projects and who like working alongside fellow students, industry experts and the hei_INNOVATION team to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.
During the Student Innovation Lab, students will enhance their technical skills and learn valuable entrepreneurial competencies such as product development, project management, and pitching. The program also offers the opportunity to build a strong professional network and gain valuable experience that will set the participants apart in the competitive job market. A specialized lab environment enables the development and testing of prototypes. At the same time, students learn about entrepreneurial skills to transform ideas into scalable and disruptive businesses.
The Student Innovation Lab spans over two semesters and is worth 15 ECTS. The program kicks off in the first week of the winter semester 2024/2025 with the course "Entrepreneurship for Beginners I". During this semester, participants will also attend additional modules on entrepreneurial skills and benefit from continuous exchange opportunities with the hei_INNOVATION team and experts in the field. This includes guidance, mentorship and start-up consulting. To bridge the gap between theory and practice, a practical seminar will start in the summer term, where students will work on their projects in groups of four people. By the end of the program, the participants receive a letter of attendance for the Student Innovation Lab as well as the Entrepreneurial Skills Certificate by hei_INNOVATION.
The online application for the Student Innovation Lab is still open until September 29, 2024. For application, students can upload a letter of intent, a CV and their current university status to Pretix. The admission decision is on October 7, 2024 and the program officially starts on October 17, 2024 with the module “Entrepreneurship for Beginners I” module.
