Member Tomáš Skopal
Prof. Tomáš Skopal is currently Vice-Rector for Information Technologies and Professor in the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, at Charles University, Prague. His research interests include similarity search, multimedia retrieval, database indexing and video analytics.
He is the (co)author of over 120 research papers and was principal investigator of multiple basic and applied research projects. Prof. Skopal serves on scientific boards at several universities, in the technical committee of the Czech Science Foundation and at several accreditation bodies for higher education. He is also an advisory board member of the prg.ai consortium, that aims to develop a Prague innovation ecosystem focused on artificial intelligence.
He has been a member of Heidelberg University’s Academic Advisory Council since 2025.
