First Aid on the Medical Campus
Even if many employees are on a campus with many clinics, the phone number for medical emergencies (e.g. shortness of breath, accident, etc.) is always 112. Why? Everyone knows this number, and it can be dialed from any phone (including cell phones) without an area code.
112 (emergency call center) not only reaches the emergency doctor and fire department, but also the police. Their emergency number 110 is often overloaded, so dialing 112 is generally recommended. Just like 112, 110 can also be called from any phone without an area code.
Work-related accidents are always to be treated at the surgical clinic (Chirurgische Klinik) or another designated location of an official “D-Arzt”. Eye injuries should always be treated directly at the head clinic's emergency room.
What is a technical emergency and what is a Minor malfunction??
A minor malfuction is anything that deas not have to be fixed immediately. A broken heater in the office, a blocked toilet, etc.: 5111. For a technical emergency action must be taken quickly. A burst water pipe can lead to a large area being flooded. The material damage can be enormous. If people have to be rescued from elevators, the elevator emergency number is automatically connected to 4444. If there is a telephone in the elevator to dial, then 4444 can be found there.
When do you have to dial “0” or an area code??
If you need to call an external number from the university or hospital telephone network, you first need to dial "0" (exchange line). Neither "0" nor area code are necessary for the emergency numbers mentioned above: 110, 112, 4444 and 5111.
From an external network (including mobile phones), the following always applies:
110 and 112 (work without area code!)
06221 54-4444 and 06221 56-4444
06221 54-5111 and 06221 56-5111
