4EU+ European University Alliance Conducting Research European-style at Heidelberg University
The partners in the 4EU+ Alliance are intensively engaged in research and they cover the wide range on offer at a comprehensive research university. Researchers can form networks with colleagues from the respective partner universities within the 4EU+ Alliance. The advisory team of the Grant Support Service is available to answer questions on funding for cross-university research projects.
Transforming ReseArch & INnovation
From 2021 to 2023, the Transforming ReseArch & INnovation (TRAIN4EU+) project laid the foundation for research cooperation agreements in the 4EU+ Alliance. In five operational work packages it created common structures to facilitate future collaboration among researchers and pave the way to joint research. This involved identifying best practices, finding solutions for obstacles, and devising joint pilot projects and learning processes. Based on the results of the TRAIN4EU+ project, support can in future be offered for joint research projects or for spending research periods within the Alliance.
4EU+ Grant Support Service
The 4EU+ Grant Support Service (GSS) was launched in 2023. It comprises a team of project managers at all Alliance universities who advise researchers on seeking third-party funding – e.g. through Horizon Europe calls – and with respect to calls for interest within the 4EU+ Alliance. In addition, researchers are also supported when they are looking for counterparts at 4EU+ partner universities to conduct joint research activities.
