The deeply cosmopolitan atmosphere of Germany's oldest university provides people from around the world with a welcoming and stimulating environment for expanding their interest in German language and culture.

Participants in the 2025 International Summer School for German Language and Culture can look forward to a varied program under the general theme “Zeitenwende:” Politics and Society in Transformation:

Core language classes are held in the morning; in the afternoon, participants can take part in a variety of complimentary classes related to their course level. Additionally, there will be workshops, lectures and a variety of cultural and social events. German students suggest additional spare time activities.

July 31 to August 27, 2025

The International Summer School offers three different language courses, each with its own diverse set of challenges. Verbal communication will be the focus in the courses I and III.

Class size for all courses is about 12 - 16.

Upon completion of the course, all participants receive a certificate of attendance. Additional diplomas are issued to those who pass a written examination. The diploma is equivalent to 4 credit points of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
