Interdisciplinary Research New Class of Fellows at the Marsilius-Kolleg
Press Release No. 32/2019
5 April 2019
Fifteen Heidelberg scientists engage in interdisciplinary research projects
A new class of fellows took up its work at the Marsilius-Kolleg of Heidelberg University at the beginning of the 2019 summer semester. From April of this year until March 2020, fifteen Heidelberg scientists from a wide range of disciplines will immerse themselves in interdisciplinary research projects and discussions at the Kolleg. Fake science is just one of the issues the fellows are tackling in their regular work sessions. They are also exploring the potential effect of a partnership on individual health, including the medical, psychological, and social factors.
The twelfth class of fellows at the Marsilius-Kolleg are the Professors Johannes Backs (Cardiology), Jürgen Bauer (Geriatric Medicine), Beate Ditzen (Medical Psychology), Stefan Geibel (Law), Frauke Gräter (Biophysics), Eva K. Grebel (Astrophysics), Selim Jochim (Physics), Henry Keazor (Art History), Thomas Klein (Sociology), Anna Marciniak-Czochra (Mathematics), Ana Martin-Villalba (Neurobiology), Vera Nünning (Anglistics), Michael Strube (Computational Linguistics), Dirk Werle (German Studies), and Eva Winkler (Oncology/Medical Ethics).
The Marsilius-Kolleg under the direction of Prof. Dr Thomas Rausch and Prof. Dr Schneidmüller aims to bring together handpicked researchers from various academic cultures to promote research-related dialogue between the humanities, law, and social sciences on the one hand, and the natural and life sciences on the other.
