Page layout Guidelines for different page types
Startseite
The Startseite of all webkits should be structured similarly to ensure that visitors have an easy entry point into the site and a unified recognition factor across the university. Therefore, the required page elements as well as their order are specified. Functionally speaking, Startseiten distribute and direct users to deeper levels within the site's structure.
Additionally, note that:
- All Startseiten must exist in at least German and English.
- In the main navigation bar on the top of the Startseite, the first menu item should read "About us" / "Faculty" / "Institute" etc.
- The content of the main navigation (Landingpages) should be summarized in Sidebar + Image paragraphs on the Startseite.
Landingpages
Each main section is presented on a Landingpage, typically there are at least 3 up to 5 Landingpages. Just like the Startseite, they distribute visitors to deeper levels within the site's structure.
Additionally, note that:
- All Landingpages must exist in at least German and English.
- In some webkits with a smaller number of pages, the level of Landingpages is skipped, and the Startseite directly links Themenseiten. For these pages, the usual rules for Themenseiten apply below.
Themenseiten
For Themenseiten, less stringent guidelines apply than for Startseiten and Landingpages. Nonetheless, certain paragraph types are not allowed there, as they are exclusively reserved for top-level pages in the structure tree. Just like Startseiten and Landingpages, Themenseiten also have a distributive function for visitors, but the corresponding page theme can be briefly presented on these pages.

Contentseiten
On Contentseiten, the focus is on the contents that are to be conveyed there. Contentseiten have no distributive function, so they typically contain far fewer links to other pages. Here too, the exclusive elements for Startseiten and Landingpages are not allowed.
