The team at the Graduate Academy Service Point provides doctoral students from all faculties of the University of Heidelberg with comprehensive advice and services.

For questions regarding the academic requirements and formalities specific to your subject, please contact the doctoral studies office of your faculty. In cases of conflict, doctoral students can contact the ombudspersons for confidential advice and mediation. The Graduate Academy also offers an academic writing support service in English and German for doctoral students.

Service Point of the Graduate Academy

The team at the Graduate Academy Service Point provides advice and assistance to doctoral students from all faculties of the University of Heidelberg. In particular, all international doctoral students are invited to make use of the offers. Contact us by e-mail, telephone or visit us for a personal interview!

Individual language advice in German and English

The Graduate Academy offers academic writing support in German and English to doctoral students. The service is aimed to support doctoral students who are not native speakers and who are writing their dissertation in English or German.

Ombudspersons

In 2011 the office of ombudsperson was created to support doctoral students and supervisors at the University of Heidelberg. The two ombudsmen appointed to the office will act as confidential and impartial advisors and mediators to whom doctoral students and their supervisors can turn in cases of conflict surrounding their doctoral projects.

Doctoral Students Convention

The Doctoral Students Convention is the official body representing all doctoral students at Heidelberg University. It is composed of all doctoral researchers accepted by one of Heidelberg University's faculties. The Doctoral Students Convention represents their interests towards the different committees within the university as well as in all external affairs. Beside the annual General Assembly the convent hosts regular and info meetings as well as a regulars' table.
