Services for International Students Semester Events Programme

The International Relations Office at Heidelberg University cooperates with a range of departments to offer a buddy programme. A student’s buddy helps them with any questions and queries which crop up at the beginning of their course of study, helps them settle into Heidelberg, and is on hand to provide support in the case of other concerns and issues.

Fancy going to a traditional “Weinfest” in the nearby wine region, or sightseeing in Berlin? The excursion programme at Heidelberg University gives international students the opportunity to discover Baden-Württemberg, as well as other areas of Germany and it’s European neighbours

The Heidelberg University International Relations Office wants to give international exchange students the opportunity to find out more about German Christmas and New Year’s traditions. International students have the opportunity to spend the holidays with a German host family, experiencing first-hand how these holidays are celebrated in Germany.

At the beginning of each new semester, the International Relations Office invites international students to attend a piano concert. The concerts are open to all international students and researchers, as well as their friends and families.

Each semester, Heidelberg University organises a range of different workshops and tutorials designed specifically for international students. These courses focus on topics such as intercultural competence, as well as different aspects of academic work.
