Course Content
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Comparative German Studies as a minor subject (25%) provides students – as an enhancement to the discipline being studied as a major subject – with fundamental knowledge of the concepts and methods associated with the selected specialisation (German linguistics and/or literature). The specialisation chosen as a part of the degree programme includes a career-oriented applied subject area. Students may choose between either Didactics of German as a Foreign/Second Language or Intercultural Communication.
Course Structure
Introductory Module: Minor Subject
The Introductory Module, as a supplement to the discipline being studied as a major subject, provides fundamental knowledge of the concepts and methods associated with the selected specialisation (linguistics and/or literature). (Recommended for the 1st – 3rd semesters.) Before enrolling in courses, students should discuss their individual interests and previously-attained subject knowledge with their academic advisor(s).
Advanced module: Minor subject
The Advanced Module, as a supplement to the discipline being studied as a major subject, provides students with in-depth knowledge of the selected specialisation (linguistics and/or literature). (Recommended for the 2nd – 5th semesters.) Before enrolling in courses, students should discuss their individual interests and previously-attained subject knowledge with their academic advisor(s).
Career-Oriented Applied Courses
Students must select a module from either Didactics of German as a Foreign/Second Language or Intercultural Communications. This will provide students with fundamental subject-specific and methodological knowledge (recommended for the 1st – 5th semesters.)
