Course Content
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Gerontology, Health, and Care, with a focus of 25%, comprises the interdisciplinary, subject-specific, and methodological engagement with the disciplines of gerontology, nursing science, ethics and thanatology, geriatrics, and (geronto) psychiatry, as well as health promotion, prevention, and rehabilitation. In the context of legal, social, and health policy frameworks and developments, the Bachelor’s degree programme addresses the fields of gerontology and the professional areas of rehabilitative, curative, and palliative nursing, support, and care for individuals who require nursing care and those with chronic illnesses at different stages of life.
Course Structure
The academic programme is structured in modules, comprising study shares from two areas of theory and methodology, i.e., from gerontology, health, and care with a subject ratio of 25% and from a general studies major with a subject ratio of 75%.
The Bachelor’s degree programme comprises a total of 180 credit points (CP), broken down as follows:
