Definition Features of international courses and courses in other languages than German

International courses

  • An international course mustcomprise at least 40 percent of compulsory lectures or seminars in another language, teaching not only informal speech but also technical terminology, or
  • foresee spending at least two compulsory semesters abroad, or
  • qualify candidates for a double or joint degree with a university in another country, or
  • be based on a curriculum coordinated with one or several international partners and exceed the content of EU mobility programs.

Courses in other languages than German

A course in another language than German must

  • hold at least the whole of the compulsory curriculum in the other language, and
  • the compulsory curriculum must be available so regularly in the other language that a degree course can be completed in the standard period of time, and
  • all examinations set for the compulsory classes as well as the final examination (both the thesis and the final oral exam, if this is part of a degree course) must be in the other language.
