Knowledge and technology transfer Space for Inspiration: IMPACT DAY 2023

On May 11, 2023, starting at 11 am, Heidelberg University's first IMPACT DAY will take place in the Chemistry Lecture Hall Center (INF 252). The focus will be on knowledge and technology transfer. The event is organized by the transfer agency hei_INNOVATION. The IMPACT DAY offers all members of the university, as well as the interested public, a space for the exchange of innovative ideas and aims to encourage new contacts.
IMPACT DAY starts at 11 am with the Impact Fair. Booths will be set up to present transfer, impact, and startup ideas from members of the university. Furthermore, startups and spin-offs from the university will participate in the exhibiton. Institutions of Ruperto Carola and its partners who support transfer in Heidelberg will present their services and food trucks cater to the public at the same time.
At 5 pm, the finale of the hei_INNOVATION ideas competition, which was first rolled out in winter 2022, will begin. The program includes pitches of the best ideas and the presentation of innovation awards in the categories “Social Innovation,” “Business Innovation” and “Science/Tech Innovation.”
The event also presents a keynote address by Prof. Stephan Urban and a panel, moderated by Jan-Martin Wiarda, on the topic of transfer at a Comprehensive Research University. In addition to the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer, Prof. Matthias Weidemüller, and Prof. Urban, the panel includes Prof. Eva Blasco, Prof. Silke Hertel, and Prof. Barbara Mittler, and thus represents the entire range of disciplines at Heidelberg University. Afterwards, at 7 pm, the IMPACT DAY will transition into a casual get-together with music and drinks.
