As part of the Erasmus+ KA 171 program between the Weizmann Institute of Science and Heidelberg University, Heidelberg doctoral and master's students in biosciences and physics have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to study/traineeship at the Israeli university.

Duration

2 months (traineeship) - 5 months (semester abroad) from summer semester 2025*

Scholarship benefits

700 euros per month and a one-off travel allowance of 360 euros. Grants for green travel and social top-ups can also be applied for. Information on this can be found under Additional financial support at the following link:

  • Online application form
  • Curriculum vitae (in tabular form)
  • Study/research proposal (1-2 pages)
  • Letter of recommendation from a university lecturer (to be sent directly to the International Relations Office, Katharina Reinhardt, by the person issuing the letter)
  • Transcript of Records
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree certificate (if already available)
  • English language certificate or knowledge of the national language (knowledge of the national language is not a mandatory requirement)
  • Letter of invitation from a WIS academic supervisor (traineeships only)

 

 

*the start of the stay is only possible if the current travel warning issued by the Federal Foreign Office for Israel is lifted.
