Local public transport from Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (Central Station)
Take the tram RNV 24 towards Handschuhsheim, Burgstraße or the tram RNV 21 towards Handschuhsheim, H.-Thoma-Pl and get off at the station 'Technologiepark' 
(approx. 6 minutes from Central Station). Information on timetables is available here:

Car
If you arrive by car on 'Autobahn' 5 from the north/south or on 'Autobahn' 656 from Mannheim take the exit 'Kreuz Heidelberg' (on A 5 it is exit number 37, on A 656 it is exit 5) and drive in the direction of 'Heidelberg'. Cross the river 'Neckar' at the bridge 'Ernst-Walz-Brücke' and drive north on 'Berliner Straße'. Turn left into 'Im Neuenheimer Feld' at the tram stop 'Technologiepark' . After 300 m there is a big car park for visitors on the right-hand side of the road.
Accomodation
Café Frisch-Hotel
Close to the university. It is only a 13 minute walk (1 km) to the geology building. Bus and tram stops are only a few minutes away. A car park for hotel guests is behind the hotel. The historical center of Heidelberg can be easily reached by public transport. The café is open all day (exept for Saturday) and offers a variety of snacks, salads and yummy cakes.
All rooms include a shower, toilet, TV, WIFI, and radio.

Heidelberg University Guesthouses
On campus. It is only a 9 minute walk (750 m) to the geology building. Bus and tram stops are only a few minutes away. A car park for guests is next to the guesthouses (costs extra). The historical center of Heidelberg can be easily reached by public transport. A café, a bakery, and the Mensa are just around the corner.
All apartments are furnished and include a fully functional kitchen, a bathroom, a balcony, TV, WIFI, telephone (calling costs extra), linen and towels.

Youth Hostel Heidelberg

Right next to campus. It is only a 14 minute walk (1,1 km) to the geology building. A bus stop is in front of the door. There is a small car park but spots are rare and it is recommended to arrive by public transport. Note: Your car needs a green environmental badge to enter this area, as the hostel is next to the zoo. The historical center of Heidelberg can be easily reached by public transport. A café, a bakery, and the Mensa are a short walk away. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are offered at an extra cost in the hostel.

Hotel NH Heidelberg
Between the campus and the Old Town. It is a 24 minute walk (1,9 km) to the geology building. A tram stop (Betriebshof) is 500 m down the road and tram no. 24 takes you to the stop next to the geology building (Technologiepark) within 4 minutes. There is an indoor car park (costs extra). The historical center of Heidelberg is less than a 10 minute walk away. The hotel offers a breakfast buffet, the hotel restaurant serves Italian cuisine and the bistro offers snacks.

Mensa (university canteen)
This is the place where students and employees of the university go at lunch time. Wide variety of choices including a buffet with meat, fish, vegetables and salads or complete dishes as shown in the menu, deserts and cakes.
