Vita

Sigit Suryo Nugroho is a doctoral candidate studying under Prof. Dr. Aurel Croissant since 2024. With a background in International Relations from the University of Indonesia (B.A., 2015) and Strategic Studies from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University (M.Sc., 2021), his research interests span international relations, strategic studies, civil-military relations, and conflict studies.
Currently, his doctoral dissertation focuses on civil-military relations and their influence on a state's decision to use military force. This research aims to contribute to the understanding of how interactions between civilian and military actors shape strategic decision-making in international security contexts.
