How to get from Universitätsplatz (‘university square’) to Haus Buhl

From Universitätsplatz just take main street (‘Hauptstraße’), at the foot of the castle, and walk towards Karlstor. Haus Buhl is located around 750 metres (820 yards) (10 to 15 minutes by foot) away from Universitätsplatz.

From the main train station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof) to University Square (Universitätsplatz)

You can reach Heidelberg’s old town from the main train station by bus or tramway:

• Bus lines 32 and 33 until the bus stop Universitätsplatz. The opening and all plenary lectures will take place in the Rektorat – the old white building behind the fountain, which is located here.
• Tramway lines 5, 21 and 24 until the bus stop Bismarckplatz. You can either change to bus lines 31, 32 or 33 or walk about 15 to 20 minutes until Universitätsplatz.

From Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden (Baden Airpark) Airport

• By train: Go to the website of the German Railway Services (Deutsche Bahn, also in English) and look for a connection from Baden-Baden until Heidelberg Hbf
• By bus, line 140 (Hahn Express):

From Mannheim Airport

• You can reach the tramway stop Neuostheim by walking some minutes and take tramway line 5 (approx. 300 meters away). This tram takes you directly to the city center of Mannheim and Heidelberg (here you can get off at Heidelberg Bismarckplatz, see indications above for further information).

Stuttgart Airport (Stuttgart Flughafen)
