Information for international students Certificate of study status for the immigration office
In order to extend the residence permit of international students, the immigration authorities often request a certificate of study status after a few semesters of study, which is issued by the International Relations Department.
If the Immigration Office asks you to submit a certificate of study status, please proceed as follows:
- Download the certificate of study status form depending on your degree objective (Bachelor's/Master's - state examination - doctorate), fill it out and have it stamped and signed by the academic advisor/degree program coordinator.
- If you are studying more than one subject, the form must be completed and signed for all subjects.
- Send the documents by e-mail to
- or hand them in during office hours on Tuesdays from 10 am to 12 noon or Thursdays from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
After a few working days, you will receive the certificate of study status by e-mail and can forward it to the Immigration Office.
