Division 8 Foundation and asset administration
The Division of Foundations and Assets manages the corporate assets of Heidelberg University as well as the independent foundations based at Heidelberg University. All incoming and outgoing funds are handled by the Stiftungskasse of Heidelberg University.
Corporate assets
Corporate assets are those available to the university as a public corporation for its own use outside of the state budget. It is one of the main funding institutions of Heidelberg University. The corporate assets consist of numerous donations in the form of monetary or in-kind donations, endowment contributions as well as bequests and inheritances with different purposes. The Division for Foundations and Assets will make sure that donations and income are used for the intended purposes. The primary goal of all the foundations is to promote scholarships, science, research and teaching at Heidelberg University, with all the academic disciplines covered through the far-reaching range of goals.
Independent foundations
Unterländer Studienfonds at Heidelberg University
The Unterländer Studienfonds at Heidelberg University is a foundation under public law and more than 100 years old. Its task is to support Heidelberg University in fulfilling its task. As a supporter of the Guesthouses INF 370, the Unterländer Studienfonds provides accommodation for visiting scholars from all over the wold as well as premises for the Marsilius-Kolleg in the building INF 130.1.
The Consolidated Academic Foundation Administration of Heidelberg University
The Consolidated Academic Foundation Administration of Heidelberg University was founded in 1906 and is also a foundation under public law. It consists of 38 individual foundations with a wide range of purposes for the benefit of Heidelberg University. The income from the individual foundations is used in particular to support students in need, to award prizes and scholarships for special achievements or to finance general teaching and research expenses, in accordance with the donors‘ instructions.
Consolidated Foundations of Heidelberg University Hospital for Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine
This incorporated foundation is devoted exclusively and directly to fostering and supporting the requirements in paediatric and adolescent medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital in the field of clinical care and research, with a focus on oncology.
