Semester Events Program Homestay Programme
The Heidelberg University International Relations Office wants to give international students the opportunity to find out more about German Christmas and New Year's traditions. International students will be able to spend the holidays with a German host family, experiencing first-hand how these holidays are celebrated in Germany.
Whether for a festive meal, a pleasant afternoon enjoying Christmas cookies, or an invitation for the entire holiday week, the time that international students share with their hosts is a culturally-enriching experience for everyone.

Who Can Become Hosts?
Hosts are not limited just to traditional family units: singles, couples, single-parent families, and/or groups of flatmates living in Heidelberg or the surrounding area - from students to senior citizens - can serve as hosts. All that is required is a sense of curiosity, openness, and a willingness to include the guest in family life for the duration of the visit.
