Semester Events Effective Studying Techniques and Preparing for Exams (German-Language Tutorial)
Content
Your exam is right around the corner and the amount of material you still need to get through seems to be unsurmountable? Are the sources and the literature written in a foreign language? How to I sensibly structure my materials? What are generally important aspects to keep in mind when taking a written or oral examination at a German university? What are the expectations?
This workshop will help you acquire the most important skills with which to independently study academic content and prepare for exams. These include studying techniques and strategies, time management, creating a study plan, techniques on organising materials and the importance of taking breaks. To simulate real-life situations as far as possible, oral examinations will also be practised and discussed.
Overview of the various workshop topics:
- independent academic learning
- sensibly structured material
- time management
- creating study plans
- structuring study phases
- the importance of breaks and buffers
- simulation of an oral examination with feedback
Please note
This course will be offered in German. Prerequisites are therefore good German language skills (min. Intermediate Course II).
A corresponding English-language tutorial for foreign students is also offered.
