Exchange Programs

Two places are available for Heidelberg students as part of an exchange program with Zhejiang University. Zhejiang University is one of the leading universities in the People's Republic of China. With around 62,000 students and six campuses, the university is one of the largest universities in the People's Republic of China and offers a wide range of subjects and an extensive range of courses taught in English. Advanced Master's students have the opportunity to do research work on site. Students of all subjects (medicine to a limited extent) with a very good knowledge of Chinese and/or English can apply. Chinese courses can be attended alongside the studies.

Important note for applicants: The partner university does not accept exchange students with a Chinese passport.

Scholarship benefits
Fee waiver, guaranteed accommodation in a hall of residence on campus. Exchange students also have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Foundation.
Requirements
  • At least three completed semesters at Heidelberg University at the time of starting the scholarship
  • Outstanding academic performance and a very well-developed study project
  • Very good knowledge of Chinese or English

If you have any questions about the application process, the International Relations Department's Study Abroad Information Center will be happy to help you.

  • Curriculum vitae with study history (approx. 1 page)
  • Letter of motivation/study plans (approx. 1-2 pages)
  • List of acquired certificates/transcripts (in English)
  • Chinese or English language certificates
  • Bachelor's degree certificate, if applicable
  • High school diploma
  • Letter of recommendation (in English)
