There is a selection procedure for undergraduate courses which are subject to admission restrictions beyond the first semester.

The application and admission procedures are slightly different depending whether an applicant is looking to change institution, or is applying for a transfer. German citizens

Applicants must submit a formal application for subjects with admission restrictions. Applications for admission to an advanced academic semester must be submitted directly to Heidelberg University.

EU/EEA citizens and international applicants with a German university entrance qualification

Any student who is or was enrolled at a university in another EU member state and would like to continue a degree programme with the same name at Heidelberg University in an advanced academic semester, may submit an application for a change of institution.

Applicants from non-EU/EEA countries

Any student who is or was enrolled at a university in another EU member state and would like to continue a degree programme with the same name at Heidelberg University in an advanced academic semester, may submit an application for a change of institution.
