Lost and Damaged Books
If a borrowed book is lost or damaged, the borrower has to pay for its replacement. For a damaged book, the extent of the damage determines the amount to be paid. For a lost book, the price is determined by the number of pages, the type of binding and the estimated amount of work that has to be invested in the acquisition of a new copy. For more details on the compensation regulations please contact library staff.
The minimum charge for a lost book are the costs for its replacement plus 20 € handling fee.
To avoid misunderstandings, before borrowing a book please check its condition and report any damages like stains, marks and loose or ripped pages.
