Postdocs and Young Researchers Working Toward a Habilitation

UNESCO-L’Oréal Program for female researchers with children

Every year the German UNESCO commission and L’Oréal Germany, in partnership with the Christiane Nüsslein Volhard Foundation, award three fellowships of 20 000 Euro each for the promotion of highly qualified women in research in Germany. Women of all nationalities working as post docs in the experimental natural sciences at German universities and research facilities who feel that their research career is endangered by the addition burden of caring for children are eligible to apply.

Support for young female researchers: Heidelberg University Olympia Morata Program

Within the framework of its program for the promotion of women, Heidelberg University makes positions available to qualified female researchers in order to support their work toward a habilitation or similar qualification at the University. In general, the funding support through the Olympia Morata Program takes the form of a part-time position in salary group 13/TV-L from a central employment pool. The researchers’ institutes are also expected to make part-time positions (EG 13/TV-L) or personnel funds available.

Margarethe-von-Wrangell Habilitation Program for Women

The primary goal of this program is to encourage and financially support qualified female scholars in pursuing a habilitation. Funding support takes the form of an employment position in salary group TV-L E13 for which the University receives funds from the Ministry for Science, Research and Art, Baden-Württemberg.
