Professorial Positions for Women

Federal and State Female Professor Program

This program, based on German universities’ future-oriented equal opportunities concepts, financially supports women’s first appointments to permanent W2 or W3 professorial positions. Appointments can be made to a position that is to become free or be created in the future or to an existing open position. Depending on the university, up to 3 such appointments can be funded for a duration of at least 5 years. For each position and year, the maximum grant award is 150.000 Euro, provided in half each by the federal and state governments. The BMBF puts out the following publication (in German only):
