Degree programmes at the IÜD
BACHELOR
The Institute for Translating and Interpreting offers the following Bachelor's degree programmes:
- Bachelor of Arts in Translation Studies
- International curriculum: Bachelor Plus in Translation Studies (Spanish)
- Bachelor of Arts in Translation Studies for Information Technologies
A general higher education entrance qualification or an equally recognized school-leaving qualification is required for admission to a Bachelor's programme at the University of Heidelberg. Proficient use of the German language as well as good to very good language proficiency in the elected foreign languages (level B2 CEFR at minimum) are indispensable for the academic programmes offered at the IÜD.
MASTER
The IÜD offers the following consecutive Master's degree programmes:
International Double Degree variants:
- Specialised Translation and Cultural Mediation (in cooperation with Universidad de Salamanca)
- Specialised Translation and Translation Technologies (cooperation with Universidad Pontificia Católica de Chile)
To be accepted to one of these Master's degree programmes, you must have received above-average marks in a translation studies degree programme of at least six semesters at a higher education institution in or outside of Germany or another degree programme mentioned in the admission regulations.
