Application
Interested students (German and international) must apply to the Heidelberg University and the Universidad Pontificia Católica de Chile.
Information on the application procedure:
Applications can be submitted via the HeiCo portal (online) until November 15th. The same documents should also be sent by email to maft@iued.uni-heidelberg.de. In doing so, a simultaneous application for the underlying national Master's programme in Translation, Communication and Language Technologies at the University of Heidelberg is also automatically submitted. Applications must be submitted to both universities (University of Heidelberg and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, more information below).
Application at the University of Heidelberg:
The documentation required from international students to apply to the University of Heidelberg is the same as for German students. The following documents must be submitted:
• Bachelor's degree with above-average success in a translation-related degree programme or a related degree programme with comparable content, in particular in a language and cultural studies degree programme at a German or foreign university
- A copy of the original university degree and a certified translation into German or English (except for documents in one of these two languages) can be enclosed with the application
- If all credits required to complete the Bachelor's degree have already been obtained but the official degree certificate is not yet available, a written proof of completion of the Bachelor's degree, including the overall grade point average and a written confirmation that the official degree certificate has not yet been issued, must be submitted
- In case of admission, certified copies of all required transcripts must be submitted before the deadline for enrolment. With the exception of documents in German or English, a certified translation into one of these two languages must be submitted
• Academic transcripts (e.g. transcript of records, transcript of records, etc.).
- With the exception of documents in German or English, a certified translation into one of these two languages must be submitted
• Certificate(s) of study progress as proof of periods of enrolment at German universities
- Studies progress certificates usually contain information on the period of enrolment (start/end of your studies), the programme of studies (degree/semester/type of studies, including information on any changes made) and information on leaves of absence
• (If applicable) proof of completed apprenticeship and professional activity, practical activities as well as further achievements and qualifications
• Language certificates (B and C languages)
- Very good linguistic and cultural knowledge in both the second foreign language (language B) and the third foreign language (language C) in terms of active and passive linguistic competence at a high level corresponding to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; this level can be attested by language certificates or the degree certificate
• Curriculum vitae in tabular format (in German or Spanish), 1-3 pages in DIN-A4 format
• Motivation letter (in German or Spanish), 1 page in DIN A4 format
• Two letters of recommendation written by a professor or by the supervisor of an internship, if applicable
